Investment Thesis

We have collectively many years of experience on both sides of the table in raising venture capital. We take some traditional approaches from venture capital for evaluating investments with a more critical viewpoint of people who have built tech companies themselves.

The Team

Everything starts with the team. A strong team with a mediocre concept will always outperform a mediocre team with an amazing concept. Success is 99% execution (and 1% luck).

With that in mind, we look at the founding team's background - what products and companies have they built in the past? what is their relevant experience for the current venture? How have they executed so far? Can they inspire other talented individuals to join their team?

Some people are paper tigers or closet lions. That's why we like to get some one-on-one time with the founders to get a feel for them as individuals.

The problem / solution

What is the scope and potential of the problem the team is trying to solve? What is their idea of an ideal solution? What is the roadmap to get there?

We try to evaluate if a project will move the needle or is just riding the current cryptocurrency hype. Are the founders realistic in their assessment of what is needed to be successful?
